Anyone else hearing this comment. I KNOW he is high....my little monkey if forever trying to crawl up under my ribs!
This is the third time I have heard this comment. The doctor has never said a word about it, but now I am wondering....
I assume (in theory) he will drop before the birth?
Re: Wow...you are carrying high....
Eventually he'll drop, yes. From what I've read this usually happens before labor starts for FTMs. For me it feels like (and looks like, when I look at my weekly bump pictures) he's been descending very gradually. His head is down but still not engaged at 38 weeks for me though.

I get comments about how low I am carrying. When I was in L&D this weekend for contractions the nurse commented on it while attempting to try and find his heartbeat with the monitor. They practically had to strap the thing to my crotch, LOL.
He should drop before birth if all goes according to plan.
This is also true for me.
DS was always stretching into my ribs too. People would tell me, "Oh, it looks like you dropped!" And I was always just like, "Okay. Whatever. Anyway." because I never noticed a difference.
I get that too- I carried the same way with DD and everyone kept saying "you're having a girl because you're carrying high" (I was carrying EVERYWHERE if you know what I mean...) Well, DS is a ball in my ribs and I can't breathe half the time and look silly when I wear yoga pants and a fitted shirt because there's such a drastic difference from my belly to where he will eventually have to drop to. And everyone keeps saying "It's a girl" and we know without a shadow of doubt it's a boy...
My OB told me that you carry low your second time because your muscles are stretched out but I spent years doing core exercises between kids so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with him being so high? Maybe if you've got abs that don't stretch as much you carry higher?
Who knows- I remember when DD finally dropped around 38 weeks I was so uncomfortable walking, sitting- pretty much doing anything that I was wishing she was back in my ribs.
I'm 39 weeks and still carrying my son pretty high
My ob (like yours) doesn't seem concerned and has actually commented that he is in good position for delivery.
I know it's hard to hear. I heard it through out allllll my weeks in the 30's. This is my first pregnancy and I feel like we pregos become public property for people and their comments. I've had some comments delight me, others frighten me and others just straight up piss me off.
I try to focus on what the ob says. I've done some pelvic exercises on the ball to help him down also with success!
Hope this helps
