Oscar nominations (NBR)

Any movie buffs here?

They announced the Oscar nominations today and I have only seen one of the best picture nominees (I really need to find a babysitter).  We watched Beasts of the Southern Wild last week on dvd.  I liked it, but it dragged at times.

Here are the best picture nominees:

Amour
Argo

Beasts of the Southern Wild
Django Unchained
Les Miserables
Life of Pi
Lincoln
Silver Linings Playbook
Zero Dark Thirty

Any recommendations? What do you want to see?

I really want to watch Django Unchained and Silver Linings Playbook.

ETA: Sorry about the double post.

Re: Oscar nominations (NBR)

  • I love watching the awards (and red carpet).  I used to always try to see all the Oscar movies before the show.  I haven't seen any of these movies!  I never get to the movies anymore.  Oh well!  I heard Argo is great!  I also want to see Zero Dark Thirty and Silver Linings Playbook.

I really want to see this.  I may surprise DH and line up his MIL for tomorrow night for us to go see it.  BTW, how are you, DD, and the new babes?

Going to see Les Mis this weekend. I also really want to see The Sessions. Helen Hunt is nominated for best supporting actress. She plays a sexual surrogate.

Ooh, I want to see Le Mis, too.  My bestie did call it Les Miserably Boring, but he also said that Breaking Dawn part deux deserved an A.  So yeah.

  • I want to see Les Mis and Argo. I wanna stare at Ben Afflek for 2+ hours on the big screen. :: swoon::

also curious about LIfe of Pi. I've read the book, but I'm not sure if I want to see anything too tragic right now.
