I'm a little scared of the fact that I was more excited for all the fabric than 3 Swaddlebees Simplexes. I'm going to have an entire newborn stash made by the end of next week!
Is making OS diapers as exciting as newborn diapers?

Oh heck yes! I just finished a lime plaid pocket for A and am now working on one that looks like pink and brown lava. And don't get me started on OS fitteds. Ohhh so squishy!
Once you start there's no turning back!
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Hey I have a question for you..I'm making newborn fitteds and AIOs. I have GMD prefolds to use and hemp fleece. Do you recommend the hemp against the skin or behind the cotton prefold? Some of them are going to have a stay-dry layer too.

I would say behind the prefold. In A's case, when the hemp on its own or directly against her skin it won't leak, but some babies pee too fast for the hemp to absorb quickly enough. I wouldn't want to make a whole stash and find out my kid peed through them, KWIM?

I just got mine too!! Looks like Ill be making a wet bag tonight and maybe some hemp inserts.
Oh hey, I'm washing it all now. Do I need to wash the hemp a few times before I sew or is once enough? I know it will still shrink.
I wash the material once and dry on high to try to shrink it to its max, then sew with it. Then I usually just wash it once more to make sure it won't fall apart in the wash and start using it after that. I'm also really impatient, though, but I've never had any trouble. It just won't be at its max absorbency yet.

Haha, yeah. I never fully prep anything.
Haha, it's funny because when I was a newbie to this, there was a point that I washed my new BG Elementals a few times, and couldn't remember if it had been four or five times, so I washed them again just for good measure.
Oh how times change!

Re: My fabric is here!
Yay!! If you thought you were addicted to cloth before, this will send you further down the rabbit hole.
