How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?
I am 32 weeks 5 days and I think I am some type of sqaush?
Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?
My next appointment is on Monday, but it is nothing special. I passed my gestational milestone of when I delivered my daughter last week. This has put me on high alert that I am going into labor at any second. (I should carry full term, but I am having a hard time grasping that)
QOTW: What has been your greatest challenge this pregnancy?
My greatest challenge was bonding with this child. I was very disconnected until my anatomy scan and still had a hard time turning the corner after that. I feel like I am in a much better place now, and I am getting really excited to meet the little man.
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?
I think I am finally "nesting." I have had no desire to work in the nursery up until this point, but I am starting to feel like a normal person now. I did arts and crafts all afternoon yesterday and can't wait to get home and start again! I also have a baby shower this weekend that I am really excited about.
How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?
30 weeks today. She is a cucumber this week.
Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?
We just passed our one year anniversary of Alice's birth/death on 1/5. And I actually just spent an overnight hospitalized for preterm labor symptoms, so we have a cervical length check on Monday and then a follow up about the hospitalization on Wednesday. At 32 weeks I start twice weekly NSTs.
QOTW: What has been your greatest challenge this pregnancy?
Trying to handle the anxiety and figure out how cautious to be, how much medical intervention to ask for, how to know when something might be wrong. Up until this past week we hadn't had any real obstacles in the pregnancy other than our own constant worry. But on Wednesday I went in to L&D for a lot of discharge (some looking like it had some brown blood tinges to it) just to be cautious and I had started dilating and was contracting on the monitor (which also happened the last time we were there two and a half weeks ago). This was the first time they actually seemed somewhat worried. We ended up getting the course of steroids just in case Ada does come early. We had an ffn test that was negative which means there is 95-99% chance I *won't* go into real labor in the next ~2 weeks, so that is reassuring. I've now been told to go on "modified activity" so no more commuting to work (was an hour commute) and I'm trying to work out working from home instead. It's still a little unclear how worried we should be. By the time I left the hospital the next day another OB did a cervical check and said I didn't seem dilated at all to him. I don't know if dilation can go backwards in 24 hours or one of them is just wrong or what. And numerous times it was mentioned that they really don't know what this means--I could still end up going to 42 weeks and need to be induced...it just depends on what happens in the next few weeks. I am just hoping we can get to at least 34 weeks (which is the point at which they will no longer try to stop labor). Really I'd like to get to 36/37-ish as I really, really do not want Ada to come out and going to the nicu. I want her coming right to our arms if at all possible.
BFP #2 7/11/12. EDD 3/23/13. Ada Alice born 3/20/13.
Hi Ladies!
How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?
I am 22 weeks 5 days along. She is a papaya, soon to be a grapefruit.
Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?
I had a regular OB appointment on Thursday and got to see her moving around and hear her heart beating away.
I also saw the room where I will start doing NSTs in about 9 weeks.
QOTW: What has been your greatest challenge this pregnancy?
Fear of losing this baby too. Also, people acting like I am all better now that I am pregnant again. I think of my joy and hope for this baby as separate from my sadness and longing for Braxton. I love both of my babies. I think that is hard for others to understand.
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?
Feeling baby girl kicking away and hoping that it doesn't stop and working on changing the nursery enough that it feels like her room.
Missing Braxton, just like every week.
Getting my National Boards done. The writing is due March 31st.
I hope you all have a great week!
