hi quick question my son is potty trained but we havnt taken the final step yet of letting him sleep without a nappy on at night?
when would one consider taking that step?
he doesnt have any accidents anymore and doesnt wear a nappy for afternoon naps its currently just at night... but he still wakes up with wet nappy the next morning
Re: Potty Training 101
With DD1, we waited until she was consistently waking up dry in the morning. She day time potty trained at 2.5 years and started waking up dry shortly after she turned 6 yo.
DD2 is potty trained during the day but still occasionally has accidents at nap time and is always wet in the morning.

we tried putting her down without a diaper for bedtime when she insisted she oculdn't wear one (not long after training) and it was a disaster cause she was waking up having wet the bed every night
my pt book says you either need to
1. wake them when you go to bed to use the potty (cause really it's very hard for anyone to hold for 11-12 hours)
or
2. use a pull up or diaper until they wake up dry consistently for awhile
we ditched diapers completely during the day now, but I feel night time ones will stick around for awhile since I'm not willing to wake her when we go to bed cause she'd be SO crabby if we did that!!!
