carriers and nursing

What are the best carriers for nursing? I have a carrier that I was using, but it is not nursing friendly. So, what has worked best for you ladies?

  • Also, LO is 4mths and I haven't been able to wear her in 2 months for medical reasons. Do you think she will take to it again after being away from it a while?

  • I always liked nursing in a wrap or ring sling the best.  When ds was really small we used the moby or sleepy wrap (I never nursed much while wearing him by the time we used a woven, so I'm not sure how well they would work)...but as he got bigger, the ring sling was a great way to nurse while wearing him.  I found the RS to be more discrete to nurse in public with as he got bigger too...I wasn't overly discrete in the wraps...but it was nice to have  a free arm and be able to get some things done :)

Any type/brand of ring sling that you recommend?  How long were you able to nurse LO in the sling for?

  • What carrier do you have?

I've managed to nurse in all of our carriers (except our RS and that's just because I've never needed to). I loved nursing in our babyhawk the most.

My first RS was from www.sleepingbaby.net/ and I still love it :. I also used a RS from https://www.mayawrap.com/ and it was bit longer than the other one... Honestly I liked them both equally though. I had a pocket put in my sling from sleepingbaby and chose linen for my fabric... It was great during the summer :. Hth!

I have something very similar to a Baby Bjorn.

I'm like MouseInLux in that I've nursed in all our carriers (Pikkolo, Moby, Ergo, Babyhawk) without any issue.  I haven't nursed in our Baby Belle, which is similar to the Baby Bjorn, because we never really used it that often or for long enough periods where nursing would come into play.
