DH and I RARELY agree on names right out of the gate... Diane, however, appeals greatly to both of us. No family significance, but the MN likely would have family ties.
Diane Louise (my maternal gma's MN)
Diane Yeavonne (my mom's MN)
Diane Josephine (my dad is Joseph)
My MIL's MN is Ann, so we feel like we've touched on DH's family enough with the FN.
FWIW, DS1 is Hank and DS2 is Otis.
Re: WDYT of Diane?
I love Diane Louise! Diane Josephine is pretty as well.
I like it and it pairs nicely with Hank and Otis. Is Diane too dated tho?
Suggestions...

Huh. I'm a Diane and I love my name. I like the fact that it's not as common in my age group.
To each their own I suppose.

I quite like it actually - It would be fun to meet a little Diane or Diana. I could see that one coming back around sooner than other names from our parents generation but you'd be way out in front.
Definitely a normal and pretty name that not many other kids would have.
This. There's nothing bad about it, but I think right now is very much associated with Baby Boomers, since it was in the top 20 from '46 through '59, but hasn't ranked nearly as highly in other parts of the last century.
I suspect it will be cool again in another generation or so (our grandkids), but right now, it wouldn't be my choice.
