I've heard from many people that DS1 is at an age where he can take a shower instead of a bath. Maybe I'm just not thinking it through correctly but I can't figure out how my 2 yr old could take a shower. For those of you that have toddlers who shower how does this work? Do you shower with them? Do you just leave the curtain open and pray most of the water stays in the tub? It's something I wouldn't mind trying with my son if I could just figure out the logistics of how it works LOL He gets so angry when we rinse his hair I was thinking maybe the ol' shower head might be better for him. Suggestions? Hints?

Re: Showers
We rinse DD in the shower after her bath, she loves it. She started off showering with one of us but now she can do it with just her in the shower. Over the holidays she took a lot of showers with one of us because we just didn't have time for a bath.
The key for us is a removable shower head, that way we can direct the water so it doesn't get all over the place. It's so much better to rinse her hair and we do lots of car wash jokes.

Sometimes DD2 will take a shower with one of us. This usually only happens if we are staying in a hotel or someone else's house. I don't think DD would be capable of showering on her own, but my DH doesn't like giving DD baths, so he uses the hand-held showerhead to help her shower while he kneels down next to the tub. At first she didn't like it, but now she's pretty good about it. I still prefer giving her a bath, so that's what I do when I'm in charge of bath duty.

DS takes showers with DH almost every morning. We started when I was pregnant with #2 and the bending over and picking DS up became a chore. DS stands under the water and then DH suds him up and puts shampoo in his hair. DS then likes to stand under the water and rinse off. He then plays with the bath letters on our wall or the shampoo bottles while DH cleans himself. They then "wiggle" their bodies to get excess water off before toweling off.
Much easier than a bath!

We don't have a bath tub in our house but she does still barely fit in her baby tub. But when she was a little over a year she had a cold and the doctor told me to put her in our bathroom when we showered to help open her up. Well that wasn't an option because our shower is open, no door. Sit a two shower heads and one is slow flow so I just put her under the slow flow and took a shower with her using the other shower head. She loved it. She just stood there and let the warm water run down her back. I have since bought a big tub with handles and put that in the shower and she likes to take a bath in there while I shower. For the record her father never took baths as a child as they only had showers as well, very common in Bulgaria.
