Update...

So I called doc as soon as they opened, and they got me in for an ultrasound.  I measured early 4w5d, which makes more sense to me than the 6w date they gave me last week (based on lmp), so no HB yet, but they were able to see the sac nestled in my uterus.  I was scared it was in my tubes, since I have been having strange cramping on my right side.  All of my numbers have been doubling nicely, but they did another hcg today for good measure. I go back in 2 weeks to confirm hb.

That's great!!!  And the cramping on your right side is just probably the corpus luteum (means your right ovary was the lucky one -- they can verify that later) that is producing progesterone for you.  All still sounds very good and hope you see a beautiful hb in a couple weeks!!!

 The same thing happened to me, I may have ovulated late or something, but in fact - i was measuring a week and a half earlier than I'd expected.   So everything was just "off" in my calculations and body.
