Question

Inspired by Mha's tub post. Do you guys let lo splash water while in the tub? I let dd but water gets everywhere and it's getting old. If I were to tell her no I'm worried I'd feel like a big meanie, but if you guys don't allow the splash, I'm totally cool with putting an end to flooding my bathroom every night.

Re: Question

  • I actually do let the girls splash, but they know (or should know) to make "little splashes". If they get a little too wild, I tell them "that was too big of a splash". Also, whoever is last to get out of the tub gets to splash to her heart's content once the water is about half gone. Doesn't make too big of a mess and the girls love it.

  • No splashing here because I fear mold. We ha e been househunting and it is really obvious who allows splashing, lol.

  • The older boys know that there is no splashing allowed. I replace the rug by the tub with a towel just in case. If they splash enough to start getting the towel wet they are done.

    Xander is harder to get to understand no splashing. We tell him no when he does. If he stops then we keep playing, if he doesn't listen we take him out of the tub. I think he is starting to get it because he listens to "no" a lot more nowdays.

    ETA: I don't care if they splash when it stays in the tub.

  • Thanks, I'll try to teach her little splashes. I swear, I look like a drowned rat after every tubby. I may as well jump in there with her.

    We let her splash it up. We put down a towel between the the bath tub and the mat so that nearly all that she splashed gets caught on that. She has fun doing it and we aren't very particular when it comes to a wet bathroom.nbsp;

    This. But we also have shower doors on our tub so when she gets crazy I sit on the inside edge of the tub and close the doors to contain the flood.

    LOL at this!

    We try for small splashes as well.  I don't mind the mess as much as the fact that our tile floor gets SUPER slippery when it's wet.  We've both slipped once or twice after her bath and that just makes me nervous.  But I don't mind the splashing when the water stays in the tub.

  • Chase loves to splash water and I let him. We have an older home and its a deep tub. If I get a little wet its ok. He is having fun and that's all that matters to me.

  • I let DS splash to an extent. Basically, if I start getting too wet, I tell him bath time is over. He's never made too big of a mess, and I view it as a good way to burn energy before bedtime Wink
