Who is using what?
We use a sippy (first years) when we're out and about but for meals he uses a regular cup now. At DC he gets a sippy with lunch if he's in the toddler room and an open cup if he's in the 2s. He loves the open cups and straw cups (but not sippy straws that you have to bite and suck).

This cup has been awesome for us:

We've even been putting one with water in his crib the last week or so, b/c he has an awful cough, and it hasn't leaked at all.
Sweet! Thanks!
We still use straw sippies. We have an hour commute each way to work/daycare and she likes to have a drink. I think I'll switch her to a kid's nalgene or camelback soon because she drains her sippy and asks for more. Plus, her sippies are getting nasty and I can't really truly get them to look clean anymore.
She does ok with an open cup, but I really have no interest in using one at home because she does dump it everywhere at least 30% of the time.

We still use sippies and straw cups only. We went through tons of sippies and the winners were the Munchkin insulated click-lock cups. We don't offer open cups, but I think I need to start...
I gave DS an open cup the other day, as part of the questionnaire for his 2 year check up. He spilled the whole thing over himself. Winning.
We use straw cups and sippys still - just whatever we have around the house.
He'll drink out of our cups with our help from time to time. But really - I haven't triend/pushed the open cup thing yet.
He moved up to the 2-yo classroom at daycare in January and they use regular cups only. So far he's always come home in the clothes we sent him in (fingers crossed I didn't just jinx us). They were working on this skill in his old room last year.
At home we've been lazy. He uses a Thermos Foogo (I think) straw sippy at meals and takes his morning and bedtime milk in a take-and-toss straw cup. We also bring the Foogo with us when we go out. I really should at least give him his water in a regular cup at home, but I will have to watch him so much more closely than I do now so he doesn't dump it.
