Newbie Influx

Is it just me, or are there like, a million recent newbies on the April board? After I had my email hacked this week, I totally developed some pregnancy-crazies and decided it was caused by clicking posts from some newbie on the board. Yes, I admit that this is an insane conspiracy theory... super crazy preggars moment..... but seriously, Bump veterans, is it normal to have so many new posters joining this late in the game??

Totally pumped to have people join! It just seemed like a ton of people all at once. welcome hope you find our April community more supportive! I've been really happy so far

Great, thanks. I was hoping maybe it would be a nice change of scenery. I think it is pretty sad that a girl can't even have a conversation with others in the same situation as her, without feeling like a complete idiot. I mean we are all pregnant together.. Why not just be supportive and nice? The worst part is, I wasn't even the center of hair pulling and criticism. I just got tired of reading it every day. It got old. =

It's generally not because of the people having emotions and their own thoughts.  It's either because they post saying stupid things like, "I was checking my cervix and was wondering why it disappeared," and then DD, or they write long posts reprimanding the entire board (but most especially the Bump veterans) for being "mean" and "snarky," when really they're just being frank and honest, or simply not agreeing.  Or it's UO Thursday or FFFC.

If you're going to put your opinion out there, you ought to have your flame-retardant suit handy because not everyone is going to like what you have to say.  But, for the most part, the ladies here are VERY tame compared to, oh, TTGP or the CFNBC boards, or even other BMBs, like the May '13 board.  And more often than not, posts are helpful and informative, or, oftentimes, silly and fun.

We occasionally still get newbies on the December 2010 board. Its been around for almost 3 years at this point. It happens, I guess.

That was really funny!!! I will say as a whole, most of the women here are nice and supportive, but I have seen many cases when someone jumps off the deep end for an opinion.  It usually happens on the UO Thursday threads. Don't get it twisted though, I have seen worse on other boards.

I'm new here today - I actually forgot all about these boards until my sister who is getting married in Oct mentioned the Knot message boards. I tried my old email address and was shocked it still worked since I got married in 2004 and had my only other daughter in 2005 and haven't been back since.  Been lurking so far this morning hoping to get back into the swing of things soon.
