Babies: 6 - 9 Months

more helmet troubles

A is up to all day and night now. he wore it the last 2 nights no problem (though last night we let him sleep in the swing because he threw up). Tonight he screamed bloody murder every time we layed him down with it. i finally just gave up and took it off but obviously thats not a great solution :/ any ideas on what to do?

Re: more helmet troubles

  • I have no idea what your helmet is like, but when DD got hers there was a little lip on the back, the lip was left to long and needed to be shaved down to be more comfortable for her to lay on her back.  Maybe your doctor could make some changes to yours? We are in our 3rd month of wearing the helmet and our doctor has made tons of changes to make it more comfortable for DD. But it is amazing how well it has worked and DD will be in it for less than a month now :)

    Good luck!

  • hmmm... maybe a pressure point that is uncomfortable? or like PP mentioned, it could be a part that needs to be shaved? my LO has not had a problem yet sleeping in his helmet except for the initial few days of adjusting to a new one...i would definitely get it checked out though so your little guy can be more comfortable.
