I'm not sure this is the right board to post this on, but I have no idea where else to ask.
I will be traveling by plane with my 2 1/2 year old. All previous flights with her, she was a lap child. Now she will have her own seat.
I desperately want her to have a restraint and it makes sense to bring her carseat. However, we have the Britax Marathon 70 and the product spec online say the width is 18.5 in. The max that Southwest says will work is 16in.
So, my question is...Has anyone flown with a Britax Marathon 70 on Southwest before? Did the car seat fit? If we need to put the arm rests up, we can...it's just my husband and me in the row with her.
What are my other options? I've seen a CARES harness, but that is $70 and it's hard to justify that when it's 1 roundtrip flight.
Another thought is that my son will be transitioning to a convertible car seat in the next few months. Do I get a slimmer car seat for him and use it for her now? Any recommendations?
Thanks for your help!
Re: Traveling with a Britax
We traveled with our Britax Marathon and it worked out well. Yes its heavy and a pain but it worked out.
