WTF CVS?

I did an online refill yesterday morning at 10 am.  I put in that I needed it ready by 5pm and I got a confirmation.  So last night on my way home from daycare I pulled into the drive through pickup and it took 20 minutes to get to the window (it was 6 by the time I got up there).  I would have gone in but I had Aiden and he wasn't feeling well.  I get to the window - no prescription.  I said "Do you not have it on hand?"  No, they have it and can fill it now if I'd like to wait an additional 15-20 minutes.  I asked WTF the point of the pick up time was then.  They had no answer.  I told them fine, fill it, I'll come back.

I didn't end up going back because DH had to work late and Aiden went to bed.  To be on the safe side I just logged in to the online site to make sure it's ready and see that the fill date is TODAY.  So yeah, even though they told me I could come back in 15 minutes last night, had I done that, it wouldn't have been ready.

Re: WTF CVS?

  • I quit CVS when the screwed up our insurance.  It was a really, really big mistake.

  • Ugh I hate CVS!!! I've decided that I would rather go into Target or SAMs and fill a prescription than deal with CVS. Also, at SAMs they will text you when your prescription is ready.

  • I stopped using CVS years ago.

  • The giant pharmacy did this to me. They called and said my prescription was ready, but when I went in, I had to wait thirty minutes while they pulled my nuvaring from the fridge.

  • I quite using CVS recently and switched to Target.  Besides making me wait forever, they told me they only have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in their system (yeah, I'm not in Michigan) and that my DH's insurance was expired as of 2008, sorry but no.

  • Our Rite Aid does this_shit to me all the time. DS's doctor will e-fill a script, and when I get there, they're like "Oh, we haven't gotten any."  I leave, and right before I'll call his doctor to ask about it, I get a text from Rite Aid saying my script is ready. So, what they should have told me is "We haven't looked for any e-fills, and don't feel like checking in front of you."  I should be more empathetic to them, since my little bro is in pharmacy school, but seriously, you get to count pills all day. Just check and fill my prescription.

  • I hate CVS and stopped using them.  They filled my daughter's prescription at double the dose of what the doctor prescribed.  When I questioned the dose, the pharmacist said, "It should be fine."  They didn't offer to call the pedi to clarify.    Luckily I did and the pedi said not to take that prescription for the wrong dose.

Ugh, I had that issue with Rite Aid too, and it's what caused me to quit using them as well.

I want to leave them, but my only other option is Walmart, and they take for.freaking.ever. Like 2 hours to fill a prescription.

  • I really hate CVS!  This exact thing happens to me ALL the time and it really gets old.  The only reason I still go there is because they are the only pharmacy around that has a drive up.  I normally have Asher with me and it is SO much easier than bringing him in.  I call them now before I go, because otherwise, waiting forever...
