Soaked in pee

This is so new and bizarre to me....Sunday morning when lo woke up he was soaked in pee and I mean everywhere! He's never ever even hardly leaked before. Now again this morning he was again! He stays in it for about 10-12 hrs which is not new, no other chages either! i just feel so bad! What would you do? Up a size or try an overnight diaper or something else?

Re: Soaked in pee

  • Up a size.  Is he on the cusp of needing a bigger size?

  • Is go up a size. This has been LO thaw last two nights. When it happened with her brother we went up a size and most nights he's fine now.

  • We had the same problem with our son at about 6 months. I was told that when a baby shows red crease marks on his legs after wearing a diaper for a few hours, then he is ready to go up a size. However, our son is a hefty boy, and he had moved into a bigger size pretty early, and so he was still several pounds away from moving up to the next size (which he probably shouldn't move into until he is over a year old). So I tried some Pampers overnight diapers instead of the discount ones I had been buying, and they worked like a charm. I still buy the discount diapers for his day-time changes (which happen every few hours), but use the name brand for his overnight diaper, and he can sleep in them for over 12 hours without a leak! So if your son isn't ready to go up a size, try a different brand of diaper...there is a difference, and I guess you get what you pay for, lol! :)
  • I second the Huggies overnights suggestion.  We use them for both kids and never had pee throughs.

  • I third the Huggies overnights - we use them in a size up and haven't had any problems.

Is your LO sleeping on his belly now?  That's when the leaks started happening for us.

  • DS started doing this recently but it was only after 4-5 hours as he is not sleeping through the night (unless you count the fact that for the last two nights he has). In any case we bought night time diapers at a size bigger than what we put him in during the day, only because I has just bought a box of diapers. When we finish we will size up his day time diapers and keep using night time diapers.
