Yesterday I was getting out of the shower and J was hanging out in the bathroom. I was trying to get him out of there to no avail. Finally, I asked him to get me a Diet Coke. He got up and ran to the kitchen, opened the fridge and brought me a can. He was so proud.
While getting dinner ready tonight, I asked him to grab his milk, he got his sippy out of the fridge and put it on the table.
Re: So this is why I had a kid
Yay!!! I love that they are finally old enough for "chores". I got mine to put up all his clean clothes the other day. Socks and pants and pjs actually ended up in the correct drawers and I hung the shirts on hangers, but he can reach the bottom rung to hang them in the closet! Score!
DS will bring me burp cloths from across the room if I'm stuck on the couch nursing DD & she spits up. He also takes his & her dirty clothes to the hamper. Oh & he gets bonus points for handing me the tv remote when it's out of reach! haha
R does all of this too! It's awesome! He will even put the diapers in the diaper pail if I set them on top while I'm changing her. He'll throw things in the trash for me, he even sounds excited to do it..."R, will you please go throw this in the trash?" "YEAH!!!" LOL
LOL G loves to throw trash away too! I was impressed when G figured out that garbage goes in the garbage bin and diapers go in the diaper genie lol.
Evan loves throwing away garbage too!! I offered to do it for him the other day and he got mad at me!
I'm so jealous, lately whenever I ask DD to throw something away she puts her hand out and says "Mommy coming too?" No dear, that negates the reason I asked you to do it in the first place.
DD does, most days, help feed the cat and is starting to understand that she needs to pick up her toys. She'll declare "I made mess!" and put 2-3 things away declaring the room "All clean!"

Awesome!
Secretly, I can hardly wait until DS is old enough to start doing chores!
Yep, I ask B to be a big helper all the time. The morning of his party my mom kept him busy running back and forth being the 'trashman.'
We've started to introduce him to chores (although he doesn't realize it). We have a top-loader for our washing machine, so it's not very easy for B to help with the wash, but we do put the wet clothes on the dryer door and let B push them into the dryer. And I first empty out all the breakable dishes and any sharp knives from the dishwasher and then he helps put away the rest. He LOVES emptying the dishwasher. He'll sprint from the other side of the house if I he's asked to help empty it.

This. Yeah, Ava isn't very helpful yet.
Yeah, A isn't super helpful yet, but he will get a tissue when B needs a mouth wipe and he will go get something from my H to give to me.
Yesterday he looked around at our disastrous living room and said. "So messy." I was like, oh yeah, thanks Mr. Critic. It's because of you!
