Daycare for Newborn

Looking for a daycare for our future newborn.  Newington, Southington and Plainville are towns of interest. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Re: Daycare for Newborn

  • We use the Stork Club in Southington since DS was 12 weeks. We have had a good experience there.

  • I live on the shoreline but the daycare I use has a branch in Southington. We use Pumpkin Patch and have had a great experience with them.I know they have a branch in Southington also.  My son has been going since he is 9 weeks. I think it would be a place worth checking out

  • The YMCA in new Britain Berlin.
  • Are you looking for a home care or a facility?
  • ditto, home or facility?

Check out the 211 infoline webpage. There is a daycare section that has all the facilities, home care, and other types of childcare that are state approved by zipcode etc.

You can narrow by languages spoken, curriculum, special care certifications, etc.

  • We are more interested in home daycare but have not ruled anything out yet.  I am a little nervous about both, so I want to make sure I find a place that I am really comfortable with.  Also, what point in your pregnancy did you start looking for a daycare?  I started calling some places (I'm 18 weeks pregnant) and the couple of home daycares I spoke with weren't to interested because I wont need care until the beginning of September. Thanks again!

I can't help with places in the area.  I started looking for daycare shortly after my first u/s at 11 weeks because I was terrified of being put on a waiting list and not haivng a spot when I needed it.  I went with an in-home and put down the deposit on DS's spot when I was about 19 weeks.
