6 months later...infection?

Hi yall, I'm not new to the board, just haven't posted in a really long time. I have a question, I had my 2nd c/s 6 months ago and I kept getting tiny holes in the incision that would leak and my regular dr, not ob, never seemed concerned as by the time I got in to see him they were usually healing. However, two days ago, I noticed small blood stains on the band of my underwear, which was laying on the incision and yesterday, i was in so much pain on the right side. Today, it is very swollen, hurts like the day I came home and there is once again a small hole. I NEVER had these problems with my first c/s. I've called my OB and i'm waiting to hear back from them. Has anyone had this happen to them? 6 months later and Ive possibly got an infection? I'm overweight and still have that wonderful "hang" over the incision but I make sure I dry the area very well with a blow dryer after a shower. I feel like my underwear is like ripping of skin and I can't for the life of me figure out why I keep getting these little holes. anyone else? any advise? Tia

That sounds terrible! If you don't hear back while there were there could you go to an urgent care centre? I would get looked at ASAP and insist that they get you in right away cause that seems too long to still be healing.

I had an infection and it was terrible trying to keep it dry. I used an abdominal pad to absorb what was coming out and when you see your OB they can see whats been draining. If it is infected its good that its draining... its big trouble if it cant find a way out. GL and I hope you get better soon whatever is going on!

I had a few problems with my CS incision. They gave me stitches that dissolve and then point the surgical tape over them. Well apparently they cut the tape a little too short because it didn't cover the last stitch to the very left and it busted open and I literally just had a small gaping hole in the incision. It got infected, I treated it and it healed but I had this weird bubble type thing over it for months and months that would leak every now and then, it was very sore and very uncomfortable. My dr finally got me a strong antibiotic and it went away. The scar and bubble thing is still there but I haven't had any problems since then. It would be better to have it looked at now while it's doing all the craziness, maybe see if the dr can squeeze you in somewhere or even go to an urgent care if you're able to. Infections like that are nothing to mess around with! Good luck to you!

I'm glad to hear you called the OB, but it could be something as simple as ingrown hairs. TMI, but I've had those in the scar before and makes almost tiny little punctures, which can get pus at times. Hopefully it's something that simple!
