m/s poll

Just curious : )

How long did your morning sickness last with your previous pregnancy(ies)?

With Augie I woke up day 1 of week 12 feeling awesome.

With #2 I've resorted to zofran and am still gagging : (

Re: m/s poll

  • All 9 months. I started on Phenergen, B6 and unisom, then had to go to Zofran and eventually was put on the highest dose my Dr. was ok with. I would still be sick with it but it would keep me from actually throwing up most of the time. It suuuucked.

It's one of the main reasons why I don't want to get pregnant right now. I just don't know how I could handle DS and being that sick that often. Sad

ETA: I hope you feel better soon with this pregnancy!

  • My weeks 11 and 12 were completely awful, but I think it was around week 13 that I felt all better.

Good luck, I hope it ends soon for you!

  • Only about 3 or 4 weeks.  Mine wasn't bad compared to most others.  24/7 nausea and only vomited once a day around dinner time.

  • I was queasy the entire time with DS -- although it got significantly better in the second trimester. (I only threw up twice with him... during first tri.). I took Zofran as needed the entire pregnancy.

With 2.0 -- nausea hit at 6 weeks (it's how I discovered I was pregnant!) It got a little bit better around 14 weeks... then last week I threw up from m/s. Ugh!

I'm taking Zofran as needed this time around too... but haven't taken much lately.

Hope you feel better soon!! :)

  • I had nothing with Max. It was awesome!

This pregnancy is already so different. Nausea started in full force yesterday and isn't easing up. I feel like I could throw up but then I just burp. It sucks!

  • I think mine started to really subside around 12 weeks. It was never awful, just constant mild nausea and a serious aversion to meat.

  • Mine started at about week 6, if I remember correctly, and went strong until a few weeks into my second tri.

  • With B I had MS well through my first trimester and into the second. It subsided for the most part by 20 weeks.

With this LO it started at 6 weeks (which is why I even tested in the first place) and greatly improved about 2 weeks ago.

With A I didn't have any morning sickness.

With #2, it went away around 16 or 17 weeks. Zofran did not provide any relief for me, the only thing it did was constipate me beyond all belief.

Hmmm, very interesting!  It's sort of helping, definitely taking the edge off, but I've also noticed it being a bit more difficult to #2.  I wonder if there is a correlation!

  • With my first pregnancy, it was only about 7 1/2 weeks until 11 1/2 weeks, but the range got wider with each baby.

This last time, it was more like weeks 6-13.5

  • With A, only here and there until 12 weeks.  Only got sick once.

With this one, every day, constantly, multiple vomiting episodes each day until 16 weeks.

  • I didn't really have m/s but I had ridiculous food aversions that made me gag at thinking of most anything.  It went away around week 14 I think.  A little farther into the second tri than I was hoping for.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • I was nauseous 24/7 until A popped out of my body. It was awful. I never threw up but didn't feel like eating or drinking. I was on unisom and B6 and zofran. And yes the zofran is constipating for sure. I took colace and had to eat prunes to counteract that. The nausea because more manageable around 17 weeks but I could never get off the meds. Any time I tried the nausea got bad again. I am hoping that when I get pregnant with another baby it isn't so bad.

  • With L, mine started around 6.5 weeks.  The worst of it was until 20 weeks.  Then it got better until about 28 weeks, and gradually started getting worse again.  I lost 16lb in 1st tri.  I was on phenergran, but it didn't help.
