Being a parent is taxing. Being the parent of a child with special needs, even more so. Sometimes, we can feel like we are drowning in a see of therapies and doctor appointments. We get so wrapped up in taking care of others, we forget to take care of ourselves.
So, what did you do for yourself this week? Last week's challenge was a create-your-own, so what did you set out to do? Did you do it? Did you make any resolutions for the new year?
This week's challenge: Create a piece of art... Draw, redecorate, craft, etc. It doesn't matter, just spend some time creating.
Re: Self-Care Check-in
DS has been sick for the past week. I have had no "me-time", but DH and I did go on a date last weekend. It was nice to get away for a bit.
This week I am going to reorganize the Christmas decorations before I put them away. I'm also going to make an art project of some kind with DS. We rarely do arts and crafts. It will be fun!
I've been working on my garden, we live on a horse property but don't have a horse so I am turning the back lot into a huge garden. Iz and I got the weeds dug up and cleared from the main garden area yesterday, now I need to plan the beds and buy seeds or transplants. My goal this week is to get the plan done.
Two Mommies Healing Hearts
I'm trying to make time to craft at LEAST once (preferably more) a week. I'm teaching myself paper quilling, I bead jewelry, I make hair clips, I do some really rudimentary creature sculpting, and I totally pick up hobbies like they're snacks. I have a whole slew of things on Pinterest that I want to learn.
Yesterday, I was home with a sick kiddo and I actually was able to get a lot of cleaning done but I also sat down and started (and almost finished!) a beaded piece for my sister.
