Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Getting LO to not fight every nap and bed time, tips?

I know most babies go through a phase between 8 and 10 months where they just fight sleep. LO will fall asleep on me or dh on the couch, but the second we try to move her to her crib its all screaming, especially at night. Is this just something we need to wait out or does anyone have any ideas how to make this easier? Luckily once she is asleep in her crib she stays asleep, its just getting her to sleep is the issue.

  • We are in this phase, sadly I try to wait till he is in a deep sleep and he won't notice as much but if he does wake up at bedtime I let him CIO.  Usually it doesn't go on too long.  For naps it is a different story and he usually is up so I pick him up and play until he gets exhausted again.

  • Noah would always wake up every time I laid him in his crib on his back so I just tried a different position (his side) and he stays asleep! The good thing about laying him down on his side is I can pat his back if he wakes up. My other son was also a side sleeper. :)

Same here. It is still a pain getting him to sleep and we hold him until he falls asleep, but he will stay asleep when he put him down as long as we put him on his side and pat him until he adjusts himself.
