Leaking diaper overnight

Hey ladies! It's been awhile! Things are pretty hectic around here. DS #2 was born 12/10/12 via RCS. We named him Bryce and he was 9 lbs and 20 1/2 in. Everything went as planned and we even got to go home a day early! We constantly had family at the house until the first of the year, which was nice and terrible at the same time! I have lurked like crazy yet find little time to post without DS #1 trying to steal my phone or pound on the keyboard. We're starting to get a routine, so I hope to post some more in the near future.

DS #1 is constantly leaking through his diapers overnight. We have tried different brands and going up a size. He is currently in size 5's and is 26 lbs. Does anyone have any suggestions of what else to try that will hold him overnight? We change his diaper right before bed and right when he wakes up.  Thanks ladies!!

P.S. Can I not change my ticker anymore? I have tried twice and I'm still showing up pregnant...

Re: Leaking diaper overnight

  • Congratulations!  I totally remember you, it's nice to see you again!!  Hopefully things settle down to a predictable routine soon.

Have you tried overnight diapers?  They work for us 99% of the time, and I am still nursing 1x a night.  We use size 4, C is 29lbs.  My favorites are Huggies, but I buy Pampers as well, depending on which is cheapest.  Good luck!

  • Congratulations, are you going to share some pictures when you can find the time?  Was your RCS easier than the first time around?  I have had no leaky diapers so I can't help you there.

  • Congrats on DS2!  That is so exciting!

Sorry I wish I had better advice about the diapers!

I hope that picture posts. I've only posted pics a couple times. Penny I did think my RCS was easier. We also didn't breastfeed this time after the hard time I had last time and I think that made a world of difference for my husband and I this time.

We have tried overnight diapers and they work sometimes but I'm hoping to find something that works all the time...or as close to that as I can get.

  • We've been using the huggies night time diapers in size 4. She's 26 lbs. DD was leaking out every night, but now it's only 12 times/week. The diapers seem a little short so I'm thinking of trying a size 5.

Congratulations on your perfect little baby! TB has been having trouble changing siggys lately. You have to delete your entire siggy, save it, logout, log back in, save your new siggy and repeat. It's a PITA.

That was a pain...but I'm finally not pregnant anymore! Thanks crystal! And thanks everyone...we think he's pretty perfect also!

We use Huggies Overnights size 4.  B normally wears a 3 in her regular diapers. She is 20lbs.

Is it possible the size 5s are too big?

Also, how much is he drinking at night close to bedtime?  Perhaps too much?

  • DS is 28 lbs and also in size 5 Kirkland (Costco brand) diapers during the day. I change him into a size 6 around 8pm and they stays in those overnight. No leaks yet and he sometimes has one night time feeding.

Congrats, by the way. Big Smile

  • He is gorgeous!

We use the Pampers overnights and CD during the day. They keep him dry.
