Is there really any difference between a regular full size swing and a portable swing? Is there any reason to buy a full size swing if the portable is 50 bucks cheaper?
This. I would not recommend a swing that doesn't plug in unless you plan not to use it much
Not always! I have the Bright Starts Ingenuity full size swing. I use it daily and replaced the batteries once in the last 5 months. It is also super quiet.
We had a portable swing by Bright Starts and really liked it. I'm so glad I didn't get a full size. The portable one I could fold when it wasn't being used or bring it to another room if I needed to. Only chaged the batteries 3 or 4 times.
YES. There IS a difference. My BIGGEST regret in preparing for our LO was not buying a full sized swing. We bought a $65 portable or space saver swing and have spent well over $100 batteries for the d@mned thing.
If I could go back I would buy a full sized swing without even batting an eye at the price. We've spent WAY too much replacing batteries in our stupid portable one.
ETA- We have a Fisher Price Love U Zoo swing.

Yes. And they have more oomph. DS hated his travel swing but loved everyone else's (daycare's, church's, friends'). I will be buying a full-size one for the baby otw.

Re: Swings
I inherited a swing from a friend. It took batteries and sucked. I think I paid for at least half of another swing in just the cost of batteries.
