C-sections

anyone here have a csection from placenta previa?

I know Placentra Previa ends witha  csection, so thought i'd see if anyone here has any past experiances!

Currently I have Complete Placenta Previa. I had it at 15 weeks and just had another ultrasound and I still have a complete previa.

Was curious if anyone else is in the same boat or has been in this situation before?

Did it ever move after 30 weeks along? When did you have your baby? Where you ever put on bed rest? Did you ever had any bleeds?

I'm not worried about having c-section, as DD was a c-section baby due to being breech.

Any information from your placenta experiance would be appreciated!

  • I was diagnosed with CPP at 14 weeks due to a minor bleed. In most cases it moves. In mine it did not. I was put on moderate bed rest but never had another bleed. I had my baby via c-section at 36 weeks and everything worked out fine. There's still a chance yours will move but even if it doesn't your doctor will take good care of you. Just take it easy and do what they tell you to do. Good luck!

  • I have complete placenta previa (I'll be 38 weeks this Wednesday) and scheduled for a csection this Friday. This is my second pregnancy.

I also had Previa with my first pregnancy but the placenta moved right around 28 weeks and I was able to deliver my son vaginally.

I have not been put on bed rest as my activity is already minimal and luckily (knock on wood) I have not had any bleeds due to the previa. Hoping to make it safely until Friday when I have my csection.

    Best of luck to you!

  • I was diagnosed with complete previa at 18 weeks. I had ultrasounds every 4 weeks to check on it. I had a bleed at 31 weeks, was in the hospital for 3 days, and then sent home on bed rest. I had my last ultrasound at 35w5d and I still had complete previa. My daughter was born at 36weeks due to preterm labor and some other suspected complications. She was small but perfect and didn't need any NICU time at all. I lost more blood than normal during the c section, but not enough to need a transfusion.

My dr said around 90% of previas correct themselves before delivery, I was just in the small percentage that didn't. Good luck to you and I hope your placenta moves!

I had placenta previa. Was diagnosed at 20 weeks. They did an ultrasound again at 24 weeks, the placenta still had not moved. At 26 weeks I had my first bleed and was in the hospital on bed rest for 8 days. I was sent home and made it 10 days on bed rest before my second bleed. I was then placed on hospital bed rest for the duration of my pregnancy. At 33 weeks I had my third bleed. They couldn't get that one to stop so I had my son via emergency c section that same day.

In 90% of the cases the placenta will move. Make sure you take it easy and listen to your doctors. The bleeds are scary but I will tell you that in all 3 of my bleeds my baby never went into distress. Most of the time the bleed is more of a danger to the mother unless your placenta starts to separate.

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Good luck!

  • I have marginal previa that was found at 18w.  I had yet another u/s today and it has barely moved so I will be having a c-section at 37w.  So far no bleeds and no bed rest.  I have been on pelvic rest and very limited exercise though.

  • I had a c-section due to a complete previa at 36 weeks. I was hospitalized the first time for 4 days and then had another bleed 10 days before my scheduled c-section & had to stay in the hospital until LO was born. My bleeds weren't bad, but the doctors told me you never know when a bad bleed might happen. They also said there's a chance the placenta will move, but once you get past 28 or 30 weeks (I can't remember the exact time) it's highly unlikely it will move. I was so scared my placenta wouldn't come out properly, but it did and everything went perfect with my c-section. I had an AMAZING recovery as well. LO had some respiratory problems where she was born at 36 weeks and had to stay in the NICU for 12 days. That was the worst part, but 90% of babies born at 36 weeks are just fine. Good luck!

  • I was diagnosed with a complete previa at my 20wk u/s.  At 24 weeks I had a bleed and was admitted for 3 weeks.  I went home for 20 hours, woke up and was bleeding again!  Then I was re admitted for the duration of my pregnancy.  I had several bleeds and as they got worse we had a plan that if I were to bleed again (it would be the 7th) that I would have a c section.  I bled again on december 1st and had my littley guy at 32w6 days.  He was in the nicu for 3 long weeks but is home now!
