Tomorrow is my first day back to work after 3.5 months of maternity leave AND it's DS's first day of daycare ever. I need to go find my big girl panties b/c I am just a big ball of emotions. Waah
It's going to be okay! You'll feel great to be back in the swing of things with work after a few days and A will love, love, love DC once he's settled. Yes, you might have a few rough days while he gets in to it, but soon he'll be telling you about all of his new friends and teachers and you'll be shocked by all the new things he's learning.
I don't know how you girls in the states do it. I know I've complained about being home with the 2 kiddos before but I really do enjoy my year off mat leave!
It is still hard for A for daycare drop offs but he is brand new to daycare and we only go 3 days a week so his adjustment period is taking awhile. Luckily J is so young that he has taken to daycare like a champ. Now..... Both of them have been sick with something or another and building their little immune systems like no other.
Thank you all for the support! MH took him in & is staying with him a bit. I am waiting to hear how it went. And yes, I am wallowing away in my giant cup of coffee as we speak.
*hugs* That's a lot to deal with all at once. The first week or two of daycare may be rough, but I'm confident A will end up loving daycare. DS loves his daycare and hardly notices when I go to leave after dropping him off! He loves his DCPs and his little BFFs and has a lot of fun. Sometimes when we go to pick him up, he's not ready to leave!
Hope it goes ok. I'd be a ball of emotions too!
Ps... I totally thought you were going to say you were pregnant again!
omg, I didn't even think of that! I think the title would have been Someone Shoot Me, if that were the case!
So my update is that he did ok. MH said he started playing as soon as they got there & MH kinda slipped out while he was playing for a while. I called around noon & they said he was doing well & he was napping. I was relieved to hear that b/c that was my biggest concern.
I picked him up at 5 & I peeked in first & he was sitting on the teacher's lap & a little upset. I could hear him saying, "mommy? daddy?" So that was really sad for me. As soon as he saw me, he ran to me to hug me & stopped crying. He said he had fun & that he wants to go again tomorrow, so that was a relief! The teacher said that the most upset he got was when the teachers switched shifts at 3:30, but at least the first teacher stayed a few minutes to comfort him & explain what was going on.
I forgot to take home his report, but when the teacher showed it to me, I saw it said he ate 100% of his lunch. That's pretty surprising, so I'll have to ask tomorrow about that, lol. I also forgot to ask how long he napped for.
And as far as my work day, I am lucky my supervisor is out on vacation this week, so while she left me a pile of stuff to do, at least I can work on it on my own time, so that is helpful b/c I am really distracted!
I'm glad he had a great day! It sounds like you have a great place, with teachers willing to take the time to comfort and explain to your child. That's really great! :-)
And C always get "I ate it all" at DC while at home he's usually about 50%. They verbally confirm to me too often that he's one of their best eaters so go figure! Yay peer pressure, right?
Re: Someone hold me
Aww no worries, Momma!! He will LOVE daycare once he gets adjusted. :-)
Good luck and have a great first day back!

Hope you're having a good day!
Thinking of you...hope all went well this morning with drop-off.
Today was the first day back after 2.5 weeks for us, which was tough, so I can relate. He didn't make it easy, crying and begging to stay home.
