lacking rooting reflex?

One of my 26 weekers lacks the rooting reflex. My ped doesn't think it something to worry about right now since he's eating...be it very difficult...and gaining weight.

I'm petrified that it's a sign of something larger just not prematurity. Can anyone share some insight or experience?
