Not an August ?13 Mama after all

So I guess I will not be an August ?13 mama after all. Our first ultrasound was Thursday, Dec. 27. Going off of LMP, I thought I was 7 weeks 6 days pregnant. However, at that first appointment, the baby measured 5 weeks 5 days, and we saw a heartbeat. However, the doctor was concerned because I had a BFP before he thought I should have, so we scheduled another ultrasound for 8 days later. Our appointment was at 3:50, but the doctor was delivering twins, so we left to have dinner, returned to his office, and were finally seen at about 6:00. I should have been 6 weeks 6 days pregnant. The baby measured 6 weeks 3 days, but this time there was no heartbeat. We scheduled the DNC for the next morning, giving me the weekend to recover.

I am sad about losing the baby. It would have been 26 months younger than DS, and I thought that was perfect. We had told our parents on Christmas, but held off on telling most other people until our ultrasound...now we are glad we waited. We were instructed to wait 2 months until trying again; hopefully, these 2 months will be filled with the joy of DS, not wishing for something that isn?t.

I am so sorry for your loss! It breaks my heart every time I hear about someone else experiencing a loss. I think my miscarriage is the worst thing I have been through. Allow yourself to have the time you need to grieve the loss. There will be good days and bad. Please feel free to post here or PM me if you want someone to talk to. Praying for you!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I would of been a July mommy, but it wasn't meant to be. It sure messes with your head. Hugs your not alone we are all here to help.

Thank you for your support. This is a hard thing to go through. Grieving is hard, especially with not many people knowing what has happened. I think this is the worst weekend I have ever had. I aprreciate your open-ness and willingness to share!

I also felt people expected me (and maybe even I did) to be fine because I already had a child but while having another child can be a comfort, it doesn't diminish the fact that you lost a child and need to grieve. (((Hugs)))

. I had my m/c at 9 weeks and it was (and sometimes still is) an incredibly painful experience. You will all of a sudden notice every pregnant person around you, be bombarded with announcements, and will always know how far along you "should" be. It's just a tough place. Prayers for you.
