I know that Clomid can lengthen your cycle when your on it and it happened to me but I had to take a break this cycle due to a ruptured cyst on my ovarie and now I'm 3 days late and testing negative...can Clomid continue to lengthen your cycle even when you aren't on it that month?? :-)

Are you sure you are 3 days late?  Do you know when you ovulated?

When I took Clomid it screwed me up a lot. I had very regular cycles and then I used Clomid, which caused a cyst, which caused me to take a break...but that cycle wasn't normal either. I don't know if it was because of the Clomid or not, but I hated it and my RE said it can screw with some people. I was eventually changed to Letrozole in other cycles and it had no bad side effects.

I'm pretty sure, I had positive ovulation predictor kits and they were right when I expected, I'm always pretty much clockwork except for the one month I took Clomid so that's why I wondered if it could continue to do strange things...just reaching as I have no pregnancy symptoms and a negative test :-)

So did you try Clomid again after you took a break from the cyst or did you just go ahead and switch then? I'm planning to start again this next cycle(if it ever comes) but I'm kind of afraid I'll get another cyst :-) I had some rough side effects with Clomid but I'm hoping it will be worth it, did the Letrozole screw up your cycles at all or did it seem to keep you closer to regular?

I have no idea why my computer just posted that 4 times.  Anyway, my RE requires you to take a break if your cyst is over a certain size, so I did take a break.  I moved to letrozole after the break cycle and it didn't screw up anything.  I ovulate on my own, so that is not my issue.  My cycle returned to normal even on the letrozole and I didn't have any crazy side effects from it either (like mood swings!).  Plus, my RE said that letrozole gives you less side effects than clomid and usually doesn't cause cysts...so I kept wondering why the heck we didn't start with that!  Haha!

Wow I'm kinda surprised they don't just start with that, I may have to inquire about it as ovulating on my own isn't my problem either...sounds a lot less miserable than clomid :-)
