So I have apparently never entered the adult world of perfume and have used body splashes, lotions, etc. I really want a nice perfume, but I always get overwhelmed when I walk in the store. I tend to like florals or musky scents. What perfume do you use?
I'm in the same boat as you, I am terrible about picking perfumes and DH wants me to start wearing them... which makes me wonder if I smell.
Anyway, if you go to Sephora (and probably other high end cosmetic shops) they will give you free samples of as many different perfumes as you would like so you can try them out a few times and see how they wear on you. I've tried it a time or two and still haven't found the scent that I like but I'm going to keep trying.
Marc Jacobs Daisy, Miss Dior Cherie, and Vera Wang Flower Princess are my faves. However, I can't wear perfume since I got pregnant with DS. It has been almost 3 years since bfp, and the smell of perfume still makes me nauseous.
Looking for perfume is such a headache. There are so many that seem like possibilities when you give them a first sniff, but then when you try them on...yuck! I am currently wearing Fresh Blackberry Currant. Honestly, I get most of my "You smell really nice" compliments when I use my Moonlight Path shower gel and body lotion from Bath & Body Works. It just works for me.
I usually wear Ralph by Ralph Lauren. It's a clean floral scent. I also have a DKNY one that I like but can't remember the name.
Mmm I love Ralph by Ralph Lauren! Dh thinks it stinks though so I can't wear it=(.
I haven't worn perfume in like 10 years but back then I used to wear Cool Waters all the time. When I smell it now it reminds me of old memories lol. Right now I just use body sprays cause they're cheaper.

DH and I used to wear the respective male/female versions back when we were dating. DH actually still has some and whenever he wears it, I tell him "mmm, you smell like high school", lol.
I ditto everyone who said you should try wearing a scent a while when you buy it. A scent smells different on everyone who wears it because it interacts with your individual body chemistry. I have found, personally, that a lot of spicy scents (which I'm initially drawn to) tend to smell too strong or heavy on me (especially because I live in a warm place). The scents that smell best on me smell almost too light or simple sprayed on a card but they improve when they warm up.

It's so hard shopping for perfume!
2 of my favorites are:
Burberry Brit Sheer and Carolina Herrerra 212

Sexy #9 by Trish McEvoy - it's scent stopped me dead in Neiman Marcus to purchase, ha. It's a blackberry and vanilla musk.
A less expensive option is the Euphoria perfumes by CK - those are good too.
My go-to is Champs Elysse by Guerlain.

My fave is Ralph Lauren Blue. It has a nice clean scent.
I'm currently using Ralph by Ralph Lauren. I wanted to change it up. I like it a lot, but I think Blue is my favorite.
