Pear shapes: Where to buy pants?

I'm down to ONE pair of pants and winter is coming. I always have such a hard time finding pants because they're either too tight at the hips or gapping at waist. I'm a size 6-8. I'd just like a pair of normal, bootcut, NOT skinny leg pants, just for the house and errands. Help please!

Re: Pear shapes: Where to buy pants?

  • I have good luck at New York & Company.  Sometimes, I can also find things at Kohl's.
  • Are you looking for jeans?  I  had good luck with NY&Co's trouser cut pants last year.  I bought a pair of ON's sweetheart jeans this year and they're ok.

  • Any kind of pants ... I'd like to have a least 1 pair of jeans and 1 non-jean casual pant.

  • I found a really cool website the other day called myshape.com. Its free but It takes a while to set up because you go in and enter all of your measurements. It then recommends clothing based on your body type and style. I haven't ordered anything yet but I really liked the suggestions it had. Reminds me of WHat Not To Wear :)
  • Have you tried the Limited?  They now have the Cassidy style pants.  (I think that's the right one.)  Anyway, they're for the super curvy body type.  I have the same problem as you... if it fits in the hips/thighs/butt, there's a big gap in the back.  My jeans from the Limited fit well.  I also really like the Gap Long and Lean jeans.
