I wanted to introduce myself, I've been reading the boards for a bit but was waiting until I had results before posting. We've been TTC for 9 months and went to see a specialist. My husband did a SA and we found out he has low sperm count (half a million) and no motility. The doc wants him to do it again and see a urologist. We are devastated. I feel anxious, sad, overwhelmed and not in control. I am sure these are all normal reactions, but it's hard to get past them right now.

 

Any support, advice, or just a hello would mean a lot to me.

    I'm sorry you have to be here. There are other ladies here dealing with MFI too, and I am sure they will have advice. We are all here to support you and each other!!

    Me: 32, DH: 34  / TTC since February 2011 / SA: all normal, HSG: all clear! / on Lovenox for anticardiolipid antibodies
    4 IUIs with Clomid, Letrozole, and Menopur. All BFN.
    9/12: lap / hysteroscopy: found and removed mild endometriosis, cervical polyp, and 2 para-tubular cysts
    5/13 IVF #1: Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, 10R/4M/4F, ET of 2, 5 cell and 4 cell, no frosties = BFN
    12/13 IVF #2 = November / December 2013. Microdose Lupron Protocol: 15R/6M/6F, Froze all 6 due to high E2 and P4
    FET 1: Jan 22, 2014 of one 4AB blast and one 3BB blast (3 blasts on ice!)
    BFP on HPT 4dp5dt, Beta #1 9dp5dt: 310, Beta #2 11dp5dt: 899
    First u/s on 2/17/14: TWINS!!!!! both w/HBs of 114 at 6w3d, HBs 150 and 152 at 7w5d
    5/27/2014: Team purple!!!!  EDD 10/10/2014 / 
    Delivered by c-section at 32w0d 8/15/2014 due to preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome
    Baby Boy 4lbs 1oz, 17 inches
    Baby Girl 3lbs 5oz, 16 inches

    Hello, I'm new here too.. also dealing with MFI.  My husband just had his uro appointment.  Now we are just waiting on more results & trying to figure out what to do next.  Hopefully the second SA will show some improvement for you (different tests can definitely vary!), and maybe the uro will be able to help.  Good luck!

    Ultrasound #1 10/6: 1 bean!

    Thank you! I did some research on vitamins and saw E,C, B12 and multivitamins recommended. Any others you know of besides these?

    Hi and welcome to 3T. Make sure you check out the newbie link at the top of the page here, it has a whole section on MFI written by our wonderful Katib it has some other great info in it also.

     Hope your stay here is short and sweet.

    I just wanted to say welcome and I'm so sorry about the SA test results. I don't have any advice regarding MFI, but there are a lot of knowledgeable ladies on the board!

    I just wanted to say hello and welcome. I am new here as well. I don't have any advice but my husband's SA was abnormal as well. We are going to see a RE on Thursday. I hope you get some answers and don't have to be here long!

    Age: Me 26, DH 27, Married Oct. 10, 2009 ,TTC since March 2012
    Problem: Irregular menstruation, unexplained
    Nov&Dec-Provera because of no period after 35+ days
    First RE appt 1/10/2013
    Tests: TSH (normal), Prolactin (normal), SA (abnormal)
    Hysteroscopy (normal) and PCOS labs (negative/normal) 1/15/2013
    2/1/13- HPT BFP but Beta Hcg was negative
    Plan: Femara + Trigger + IUI in April if no real BFP before then Bloggy Blog!

    Sorry you have to be here. My RE recommends a chewable multi vitamin like flintstones, selenium, and vitamin E for MFI. GL and FX for a short stay.

    Welcome and sorry about the bad news with your DH SA.  Hopefully the urologist will be able to help you!  There are a lot of ladies on this board who are dealing with MFI, so I think you'll find some great support here.  Best of luck!
