Catfish

Catfish the TV show....does anyone else watch it?! I am totally addicted! They did an episode in the apartment complex my BFF lived in a few years ago. It's so crazy when shiit goes down!

For those of you that don't know, this guy and his brother did a documentary about finding the girl he met online and fell in love with. When he finally met her in real life, with his brother filming, he found out he had been talking to someone that looked nothing like the pictures. The documentary became a hit and now the brothers get letters from other people wanting to meet someone they have been talking to and have fallen in love with online. It's so crazy because there are some girls that go on and on about how the guy they are talking to is a model and makes tons of money, etc.....only when they finally meet, the brothers catch their reaction when they find out the guy is the complete opposite in real life. One episode showed sisters, one was talking to a guy, the younger one swooped in and started talking to him. They both fell in love with the guy, but the other one stopped talking to him due to him talking to her sister. The younger sister finally meets the guy in real life only to find out it is a GIRL! Crazy! Some stay friends, some don't, they do updates at the end. It's interesting!

  • Yes! Me! I'm also obsessed.  I just watched the movie today and its crazy. The girl Angela that did this to Nev had about 12 different fake FB profiles, her lie got so complicated.  It's insane to me that most of them (Nev included) continue to be friends with the crazy pants faker who lied to them for months/years!!

  • I've only watched a couple of episodes, but the one I found interesting was the one ending in a lesbian relationship.  The girl thought she was talking to a guy, but it ended up a woman.  They decided they would stay in a relationship regardless of the gender difference.  I found that one endearing.

  • I freakin' love it!! DH and I watch it almost every time we see it on.
  • I am a fan. I am totally blown away by how unapologetic the people who have been posing as factious people are. In the one where the guy went to MS to find some girl named Abby, he found a different girl and she was like "well people are mean to me, so I pretended to be someone else so I could feel good"...uhhh but you have been in a relationship with this guy for a year and you didn't ever think about how it might turn out. At least say that you are sorry to the guy instead of shrugging your shoulders like it is no biggy, but expecting that you two may still have a relationship?
