I'm glad you agree, thanks! Nope, it's his nn, and honestly I do not even know his real first name. I like Birdie bc it is SO old fashioned. I am just torn between Gwenny and Iris and am afraid I will still not know when I meet her! I suppose I can always change the middle name for Gwendolyn as I am not in LOVE with either mn.
I think they're both great! My husband and I use family names as middle names for our kids. Our oldest is Genevieve Ramona. Ramona is my husband's grandmother. I think that a middle name is a great way to honor family while still giving the child some individuality with his/her own first name. I wasn't in love with the middle name Ramona, either, but when we told my MIL the middle name, she was so happy that she cried! Totally worth it! My suggestion is to wait until the baby is born and see what you think she looks like. That way, you won't have any regrets!

This.
I don't hate Gwendolyn. I think it is a fine name. I just feel like there are too many jumbled letters when I see it spelled out.
Birdie I don't get. (ETA: I get the family connection now. Tough one.)
I really like Iris Elizabeth. I like both names alone and think they are just fine together.
