Your virus is bound to help you cut weight in a day or two. Too soon? Sorry.
The best thing for me is to keep small, healthy snacks around. If I never get to the point where I'm starving, I won't over indulge in junk food. Grazing has always worked for me.
1 Eat eggs for breakfast. E won't eat meat, so I've been making hard cooked eggs for breakfast since she's been eating solids to make sure she gets protein. I think I lost 5 lbs just by swapping eggs for cereal since they keep me full.
2 Brush your teeth after dinner. For some reason, it seems unreasonable to snack if you have to brush your teeth over again.
3 Water! Drink tons of water. And by water, I mean WATER not tea, not juice, not diet soda. Water!

If you want to exercise, choose something you like to do. You'll stick with it much longer if you enjoy the activity. Sorry I have no tip for if you hate exercise entirely, ha ha.
Also along the lines of exercise...lift weights or do some sort of resistance training. It will shape your body much better than long boughts of cardio only.

Top suggestion: Cholera. Works every time!
Mastitis does the trick too. 7 pounds!
Awesome, Nita. You show true dedication. Nice work.
Seriously now, I'm glad you're feeling better. I wish you and your boob all the best.

Thanks. I plan on getting the flu next for toning. Seriously though, thanks. My boob and I appreciate it.
1. Cut out sodas entirely. If you need bubbles, drink a seltzer water or Izze (made with natural sugar, not HFCS). If you need the caffeine, choose tea or iced tea (not the fountain kind).
2. Don't buy processed foods. If they aren't around, it's hard to eat them. if all you have is fruit and veggies, you will snack on them.

No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
1. Don't buy crappy food. If its not in the house, I won't eat it.
2. Cut out soda.
3. There is no way I could cut out breads or pasta. So instead, I do half or quarter portions compared to what I used to eat. And sometimes I just cut it out altogether. When we make soft tacos, I won't use a tortilla and will just eat the stuff with a fork. If we have pulled pork sandwiches, I don't eat the bun. Instead of half of a plate of pasta, I will have a quarter of a plate of pasta and eat extra veggies.
4. Shop the outside portions of the grocery store. Then you will hit the fruits, veggies, eggs, meat. I like the picture the isles in the center of the store as "no mans land" and try not to go in those area at all. Those are mostly highly processed, full of sugar, and full of calories.
5. Brown rice. Easy to mix into differen meals and filling.
6. Gallon jug of water in the fridge. Fill every morning, drink the whole thing by bedtime each day. You will pee like a 9 month pregnant lady for a few days as your body starts to adjust, but after those few days you will be fine. If you cannot do that, a 24oz Camelbak waterbottle....filled three times a day. To remember what number of "filling" you are on, keep a hair tie around the waterbottle, starting at 8oz. Fill, drink, and when gone...slide the hair tie up to 16oz mark. Fill, drink, and when gone...slide up again to the 24oz mark. Fill, drink.....and you have successfully had your 9 glasses of water for the day. I don't know how many times I forgot how many waterbottles full I had drank already. A friend of mine puts three hair ties on her wrist and as she drinks each water bottle "filling", she takes a hair tie off her wrist and puts it around the waterbottle. So at the end of the day, there are no hair ties on her wrist and all three are around the waterbottle.
7. Keep busy. If I am being lazy, I eat more...simply because I am bored and just start mindlessly snacking.

Also along the lines of exercise...lift weights or do some sort of resistance training. It will shape your body much better than long boughts of cardio only.
This! Especially the part about strength training. Not only will it improve the shape of your body, but it will boost your metabolism. It takes more energy (calories) for your body to maintain muscle than it does to maintain fat. You'll burn more calories even while you sleep if you increase your muscle mass. If you hate strength training on your own, try a class at the gym. Don't be afraid to pick up heavy weights. Women do not have enough testosterone to bulk up.

I was going to say the exact thing about choosing heavy or challenging weights Ally!
but seriously, only eat on a routine (I like a few small meals a day) and stop when you're just not hungry anymore, not full.
In Japan they stop eating when they're about 80% full. In France, you ask if the person isn't hungry anymore, not if they're "full". I try to keep these in mind not only because they help with weight but also because I just hate feeling super-full. It's so uncomfortable. I try to be conscious of what I'm feeing after every bite. It's crazy how quickly you become satisfied.
I'm trying to stay away from sugar because that stuff is so addicting. I won't want it at all and then after having a bite all I want is a million more. So gross.
