Mix baking soda into coconut oil... there are variations of online... I'm not sure the exact measurements because I just eyeballed it...
It does take a few days to detox, so you may need to wash your underarms and re-apply a couple of times a day for the first few days. It also may be slightly red as your body adjusts, but this does go away.
I make my own using baking soda, corn starch, coconut oil and lavender oil (which is optional). It works great! I was skeptical at first, but it's so cheap I figured I would give it a try, and I have never gone back.
i have used the crystal for ~3yrs. One small (trial size $1.75) crystal lasted for 2 yrs. totally cost effective. I had a few days of detox when I first used. The key is to get adequate product under your arms. You don't just do a quick slap of stuff under the arm. I usually rub for 15-20 secs under each arm. It's not an antiperspirant, so you will still sweat. I've found I actually sweat a lot less now than when I wore conventional products.
Just recently picked up some Now Foods Deodorant cream bc I was noticing inthis insane heat i was getting stinky when i walked to/from work. This stuff is pretty awesome. I says it lasts for a week, but i apply daily b/c i'm paranoid. the ingredients are:Talc, safflower oil, zinc oxide, beeswax, lanolin, rice starch, grapefruit seed extract.

I went online to see about this crystal deodorant, I've heard about on here. I found this link. Not sure if it's terribly accurate and I don't have the time today to do more fact checking, but just wanted to give the heads up.
The rock is a salt potash alum (potassiumaluminum sulfate.)
Chemicals like aluminum chlorohydrate are estrogen mimickers that can throw off the body's delicate hormonal balance
From the Crystal site:
Do Crystal deodorants contain aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium? No. Crystal deodorants do not contain aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium.
Lavanila at Sephora. I finally had to switch after I got so fed up with my excessive sweating and concern over all the chemicals in regular deodorants. I tried a couple of brands from the grocery store (incl. Toms of Maine) but I was having to reapply all the time, it just wasn't working. Not only that, my underarms were crawling with bacteria and/or I had plugged sweat glands that were creating a horrible stench that I just couldn't get rid of.
I did a bit of research, and after seeing all the positive reviews on the Sephora site regarding the Lavanila line of products, decided the most I had to lose was the $20 it cost to buy (yes, it's pricey!).
Best decision ever. Although its a deodorant (and not an antiperspirant), my excessive sweating is now no longer a problem, and I have no issues whatsoever with smell. I only have to apply once a day, and a stick of it will last me about 3 months... So the cost isn't so prohibitive. And I no longer worry about the chemicals I'm exposing myself to like I did with regular deodorants and antiperspirants. FWIW, the regular vanilla scent is the nicest.
I also use Coconut Oil, Baking Soda and cornstarch. I've used it for over a year now and it works great!
can I ask how those of you who use baking soda/cocanut oil type mixes apply it? (sorry if that is a dumb question).
We make ours and put it into a small container. Then we just rub it on our underarms when needed, using our hands.
I did see a recipe for spray deodorant that you put into a squirt bottle... It think it was witch hazel, baking soda, aloe vera, and whatever essential oils you desired for smell.

I bought a natural lavender deodorant creme from Etsy seller Soapwalla. My only complaint is that it burns a little if I use it right after shaving, but I just use something else that day, and it's been fine.
On the other days I use Khiel's deodorant creme. Not sure how eco-friendly or natural it is, but it's what I had in the house.
OK, the only natural brands that work, are still totally as natural as you can get and you must use together are:
the salt crystal spray ( a none scented one)
and then I use a Weleda deodorant spray.
EVERYONE thats smells my Weleda deodrent loves it. I use the sage one. its very fresh smelling.
Oh and when you work out, or when you can get away with it, just dont wear deodrent. Let yourself sweat out the years of built up toxicity. Toxic deodorant use has been linked to breast cancer.
