has anyone done the WW online? a few questions...

So I am looking to start WW online... but I want to know how it has worked for real people...  how much weight did you lose?  did you like the program?  what didn't you like?  does it cost money to cancel?

thanks!

Re: has anyone done the WW online? a few questions...

  • I did it for about 10 months about a yaer and a half ago. I lost 20 pounds, and while I no longer subscribe, I still use the general concepts learned. I've kept most of the weight off until my pregnancy. It works best if you have a mobile app to use to track items while you're out, or I would suggest buying one of their points calculators.

    I liked it because it is pretty common sense really. I know they've changed it since, but when I was doing it fruits and veggies were point-free to encourage you to snack on them.

    There's no cost to cancel, you just stop your monthly subscription when you're ready.

  • I've done both online and meetings.  I lost weight with both (I did lose more going to meetings..I need that extra support :) ).

    Meetings = I lost 100lbs

    Online = I lost the 20lbs I gained back Embarrassed

    I agree with the PP using the mobile tools on a smartphone is critical for success! Really makes the plan doable!

    good luck!!!

  • I lost 71lbs on WW (and exercise). I went from 196 to 125. I'll be honest- I have a good metabolism, but WWO really did change my relationship with food and making good decisions. I found the points to be very helpful and it was a fun challenge to make my goals. I plan on going on it again after my next LO. It does take discipline- both my parents have tried it and didn't lose weight. It takes a mentality of being stubborn about that daily target. The extra points for exercise were great incentives to run and spin.

    You don't have to pay to cancel, as other PPs have noted just cancel and that's it. They have a 3 month program that's pretty good. I never believed in diets and stuff until I had to lose weight, but WW does work.

  • Thank you SO much ladies!  I am really looking forward to starting!  I wish I could do the meetings, but my husband works evenings, so I can't make it with three kids... and I am sort of the type that does better alone...

    Thanks again for the feedback!

  • I did WW online about 6 years ago. I lost 30lbs in about 3 months.  I really got a lot out of the program and although no longer a subscriber I also use the tools I learned online to keep my weight in a healthy range.  One thing that was a surprise to me though...In April of this year I came off the pill and realized that my body was different and that my goal weight that I had maintained pretty effortlessly for the past 5-6 years had no longer been so easy to maintain...I had to get comfortable with the fact that I may not be able to stay as low as I was, I found that my body seemed to be more comfortable about 3-5lbs heavier while off the pill.  I am now 6 weeks pregnant so I don't plan on being at that goal weight for a while but I do plan to set a weight goal for my pregnancy that I feel confident I'll keep with the healthy habits I learned from WW.  I think their program is wonderful and highly recommend it!
