DD has been in preschool since August (before that, I had a babysitter come to my house to watch the kids while I work). She goes two days a week. She seems to like the school and never fights going there.
When she first started, she adjusted really well. She played well with the other kids and even asked to go there. But recently, she has started being really shy and reserved. Her teacher said she doesn't even talk to her anymore, and she has to ask a yes or no question to get a response. When I come to pick her up, she's always playing by herself. She's normally pretty shy in social situations.
She is acting fine at home, and is outgoing, playful, talkative, etc. Nothing has changed in the school environment.
Is this something I should be worried about?
Re: Acting really reserved at school
My LO wa slike this too.
Shegoes 2 days a week. Started in July. Never spoke at school, but did seem to like playing with the other kids. Just a few weeks ago she started talking (nonstop acc to teachers). I think it just took her a long time to warm up. Tuesday I got anote on her daily chart that she's no longer shy!
