Parenting after a Loss

Ergo users...question

I just got an Ergo carrier today and I feel a little unsure about it.  My LO is 2 weeks old today and with the infant insert I still don't feel like I am supporting her enough.  I feel like if I stand up straight her head flops on me and it is buried in my chest.  She slept the whole time but I was uncomfortable and felt all hunched over.  Am I doing something wrong?  Any helpful tips?

  • I have the same problem - I feel like even with the infant insert, DD's head just flops around.  When I wear her, I hold the back of the insert to try to keep her head more steady.  At this point, I actually prefer the Moby for wearing her.  I feel like she's more secure in there.  Watching this post to see if anyone has suggestions...

  • That early both kids did end up snuggled right up to my chest, but securely so. With the insert I always have to make sure it's as low in the carrier as it will go and that LO's butt/froglegs are right on top of the bump in the insert. I tighten the arm straps quite a bit to get the fit snug so that I'm truly arms free.

This.  Plus if DD was awake in the carrier I would sometimes fold the top of the insert down in the back and tuck it into the carrier a little to give a little more head support.

  • I started using it at 3 weeks and had the insert down pretty low and tightened the straps pretty snug!
