Manchester NH Moms

Hi everyone! I'm new here and I'm looking for your recommendations on OBGYN's in Manchester. Possibly looking into using someone at Dartmouth Hitchcock. Anyone have any experience with them? Thanks :-)

Re: Manchester NH Moms

  • I use dartmouth hitchcock, I have gone to both their manchster and bedford offices. I have had nothing but a good experience all the doctors I have seen have been very friendly, informative, and unrushed. I have called after hours midwife a few times and they are always propt to call back and easy to talk to and kind. I prefer their bedford office to the manchester one becuase its a smaller facility, new and bright. The manchster office is a lotmore hospitally to me.
  • I know it is not Manchester, but Bedford Commons is phenomenal.  I really liked every single one of the doctors.  They try to have you see each of the ob's at least once so you aren't meeting for the first time n the delivery room :D  They also were willing to work with me no matter how crazy my birth plan!

  • I have been seeing Manchester Obstetrical associates for 11 years and they are fantastic! I am currently 39 weeks with my first child and they have been amazing throughout the entire pregnancy!
  • I used the midwives at Dartmouth both pregnancies and both times I was sad when I didn't get to go for regular appoints anymore lol. They're all so nice and laid back about everything, but attentive if you have concerns. I also was looking to deliver at CMC and they do so that was a factor as well.

  • Claire Fisher at DMHC Manchester is the most amazing midwife on the planet. The entire staff is great but she and her medical assistant are wonderful!
  • Their affiliation is no longer with the Elliot it is strictly with the CMC which does not have an NICU (LEVEL3)

That may be something to keep in mind. gl =)

  • I am currently a patient at Bedford Commons and they are great!! I have had great experiences with all the staff there. I especially like that you see all the doctors and nps for appointments because any of them could be on call the day of your delivery. It puts my mind at ease knowing that it won't be a strange on call doctor I've never met that delivers my baby!
  • I am 27 weeks pregnant, and have been going to Bedford Commons OB/GYN.  I used to go to Bedford Womens Care, but they dropped the OB a few years back, but they highly recommended Bedford Commons for OB care.

They have been fantastic.  My only complaint would be one of their Ultrasound techs. She has a british accent and she is just not nearly as friendly as everyone else.  I told the front desk I didn't like her as much so my next Ultrasound is scheduled with the US tech that I enjoyed very much.

You get the choice of staying with one OB the entire time, or choosing to see a different OB everytime you go.  I prefer to see all the OB's in case the day I deliver the one I want isn't on call.  This way you are at least familiar with every possible OB that will be delivering your child.

I also have several friends/co-worker who go to this practice... they all agree that it is fantastic.   Good luck with whoever you decide to go with.

Just remember to take into account where you want to deliver.  Most OB offices are affiliated with one hospital.

  • I was with DH in Nashua but switched due to location.  Although they were great, it became inconvenient.  Then I found out my XH's wife works in the mat ward of the affliated hospital.  Although I'm sure she is a lovely person, it wasn't the experience I preferred.

I considered DH in Manchester or Bedford but did not want my LO to go to Lebanon for any complications.  Its a great hospital but we prefer Boston Children's.

I switched to Bedford Commons which allowed me to pick CMC or Elliott.  I have been so happy with them.  My RE actually recommended them over DH because it was a more personal experience.  The receptionist at DH Bedford was the truning point with me.  I did IVF and when I was explaining which week I was in to her, she said she didn't know what to do with me because she didn't have any experience with IVF patients.  Thanks for making me feel like an alien.  Bedford Commons was amazing and fully understood the whole process.

I had the u/s tech mentioned in by PP two weekss ago.  No issues with her.  I have experienced really great people there.  Including their ability to completely work with my super naive prego brain.

  • I'm at bedford commons as well, I didn't know they were affiliated with Elliot prior to making my appointment but my regular doctor referred me to them. Elliot is actually closer to me and I like that they have a great NICU (I was a premie and in the NICU for 3 months). I've had no complaints so far about Bedford Commons. All the nurses/MA's have been great. The doctors I have met so far have been great as well but unfortunately, the time you spend with them is very short (like any doctor visit really). I've also had the Ultrasound tech mentioned (she is the only one I have had thus far actually) and haven't had a problem with her. She isn't overally talkative but still friendly and kind in my experience thus far. Glad to hear other mom's say great things about Bedford Commons :)
