Ring sling for newborn?

Someone here had a great link in their siggy, but I seem to have lost it.

I have an Ergo for later on, and I had a Moby that neither DD2 nor I ever really liked. I'm interested in getting a ring sling for DD3, especially one that is easy to nurse in. Any recommendations?

If I get a ring sling, do you think I can skip the infant insert for the Ergo? Both DDs were just over 9 lbs and 21.5-22" at birth, so I'm expecting another big baby. I figure she should fit into the regular Ergo within a few months.

  • Many ladies on here recommend Sleeping Baby Productions for slings. I'd link but I'm on my iPad.

  • I have a sakura bloom rd which I love.  I had a Maya wrap sling which wasn't as comfortable to me. I have an ergo and put a blanket at the bottom for Dd to sit on. I don't think the insert is necessary.

  • Might be my siggy :)

You might be able to use the Ergo after a few months if your babies grow fairly fast.  you might also get away with using a rolled up small blanket to boost them up so they can sit on the towel an be comfortably legs out.  Basically, the top of the ergo shouln't come higher than the middle of their ear and their legs should be able to swing at the knee (meaning their legs aren't overspread).

    Yes! Thanks!

Both girls were 12 lbs by 2 months, so I assume DD3 will be as well. I should be able to use it by the time my c-section scar is healed then.
