Parenting!

Hi girls.  I just got my first BFP and I've never been so excited in my life.  I can't wait to be a parent.  I'm so scared of boob-feeding though!

  • It's not the boob feeding you should be scared of. Trust me.
  • We can share our horror stories so you know what you should be afraid of.

Did you know baby kicks can break your ribs?

My mom swears she broke a rib throwing up when she was pregnant with me.

Carson Henry, born 39w, 2d, via emergency c/s due to no fetal movement and fetal distress.  Seizures, IVH grade 2, brain injury, kidney and liver damage.  Complete blood clot in the artery in his right arm.  27 days in the NICU.  Now discharged from all specialists, excepts his kidney doctor, who will monitor him indefinitely.  My tough little cookie.

I pulled muscles and crap puking, but DS seriously cracked or dislocated a rib. They didn't want to do an Xray bc of the baby, but he was planting his feet and kicking my ribs and then i was screaming. It was all wiggly and would shift with kicks the last two months of my pregnancy. It was so much fun. Between that and hyperemesis, DS owes me an awesome nursing home when I'm old.

  • Don't forget the roids. After you give birth I heard it's super trendy to take a photo with the whole family in an afterbirth tubby.
  • Good luck with your #18 after you give birth!

Boob feeding is fun! I use my tatas for all sorts of party tricks these days. Juggling and 'baloon' animal making are my favorites. Eventually when you get really good at it you'll be able to reach into the back seat and hand the kid a boob. It's really convenient.

I assume my kids will lock me in the garage, steal my social security and feed me a diet of the rejected McDonalds happy meal apples.

BTW, great intro on TTGP - especially the part where you call them all bishes. Very creative.

I shouldn't have looked in that thread. Now I will have nightmares of Pennywise.

I was afraid of boob feeding.  If you are diligent and consistent, you'll be fine.  Your body knows what to do.  Good luck.

Okay, so I get that this post is MUD, and I need to just ignore it, but I hate responses like this.  Gah.  It always brings out my suppressed guilt and feelings of failure.

See what you've done, OP?  Now I'm going to go add five more pounds to my fat self while I use chocolate to drown out my feelings.

I don't know if the person is real or not and I don't really care.  I was just encouraging her in her alleged endeavors.  Why would I refrain from doing that simply because BFing didn't go well for everyone?  If your feelings are hurt, that is your personal issue to deal with.

You've posted on TB long enough to have been over this a bazillion times, have you not?

Oh, BB.  This whole post is MUD, so I was mostly joking, but do you not see how your words are different from simply encouraging someone?  You're perpetuating the stereotype that BFing is so natural and easy as long as you stick with it.  It's hard sh!t, and not everyone's body just "knows what to do."  Your words basically imply that anyone who failed to BF was neither diligent nor consistent, which is ridiculous.

    Word.

However, being diligent and consistent in an effort to not suck at life will always work. You should give it a shot, BB.

This is my siggy. Love it.
