If you've dealt with a yeast rash, how did you know it was not just diaper rash. DD hasnt really has any diaper rash until this one, and I guess I'm a little paranoid. It's not that gnarly, it's just been there for a couple days. Also, how did you deal with it? I just got 2 brand new fitted cloth dipes that I REALLY don't want to bleach

TIA for any advice...

Re: XP: Yeast? How did you know?
If you see no signs of improvement in 48 hours you should contact your pedi. You can tell if its a yeast diaper rash if it is slightly raised and bumpy looking and doesn't respond to normal diaper rash lotions. Try gooling images of yeast diaper rashes there are a lot of good sources. You will often see raised bumps just beyond the edge of the solid redish area they look almost like red pimples.
If it is a yeast diaper rash DS always responded to Nystatin within 24 hours. (You need a prescription for this). DS got many yeast rashes due to repeat ear infections (which ended when he got tubes). If your LO has been on antibiotics its probably a yeast infection. Also probiotics will help reduce the chance of your LO getting a yeast diaper rash while on antibiotics.
If your LO's diaper rash doesn't look like a yeast infection, but doesn't respond to treatment you might want to change the lotion you are using. DS is allergic to Chlorine and zinc-oxide (common in many diaper rash ointments). We only use aquaphor and hydrocorstisone cream (prescribed by our pedi due to DS's allergies).
