Is DS protective of you?

Lately DS freaks out anytime DH hugs me, gives me a kiss or leans on me.  He says no, no and climbs in between us and throws his arms around me.  It could just be that he's both more aware of it now and doesn't see it much.  Due to our schedules lately we've rarely both been home and awake at the same time long enough to spend much time together because DH works 3rd shift and has been working a lot of overtime lately.  I'm guessing it's just a phase.  I actually think it's kind of cute, but DH gets annoyed by it.

Re: Is DS protective of you?

  • Mine is actually the opposite. When one of us is holding DS and we give each other a kiss, DS keeps grabbing our heads and pushing them together to make us kiss over and over. He just laughs.

  • My ds used to be kind of like this, but we decided to do a "family hug" and so whenever dh and I hug and ds sees us, he'll say "I want to be in the family hug". So yes...we don't get hugs or kisses with just each other, unless ds doesn't see it.  It always turns into a family hug.

  • Yes!! DD will fuss and whine, push us apart then say haha and bye bye to DH. It's kinda funny.
We always try to include her in the hug.

  • LOL. Yep.

We're in a pretty bad phase with that combined with a " I want my Mommy and only Mommy. No one else can get her either" phase.

We do the group hug thing or talk to her.

H keeps coming near me just to make her mad. It's kind of cute..she's got a pretty mean stiff arm for him. ;)

  • That's my son, too.  He gets upset if I try to hug DH or kiss him.  It's like he has radar!  He will pull us apart and then hug onto me.  We keep saying he's in his "not the mamma" stage: if it's not the mamma, he's not interested, and no one else can have her."  It's funny, sort of flattering, and also sort of stressful.  We figure he'll get past it sooner or later.  We joke that he wants to stay an only child.
