water temperature

Hi ladies,

So we are just starting to give our little guy water in a sippy cup to practice at meals with his solids.  This is such a dumb question but do you give room temperature water or cold?  I went to fill up his cup last night and realized I wasn't sure what to do!  Thanks!

Re: water temperature

  • There is no right or wrong here. I would give the same temp as the bottles you give, so it's less of a transition. If you BF, you would want room temp, or slightly warm.

  • DD loves ice water. DS also preferred ice water as a baby.

  • I don't think it is a big deal either way, but if he will take it cold, I would give it cold. Only recommend this because I know a lot kids that had problems switching to cold milk in a cup/sippy. I think if kids get used to drinking cold liquids our of a sippy it makes that transition easier.
