Anyone else not stay up on NYE?

To further make myself look like a loser on here...I will confess. I do not plan on staying up til midnight this year, and I haven't in probably the last 2-3 years.

We're not going out, and my kids get up at 7 the next day. We will get takeout or do an early dinner out with the kids (I'm thinking Mexican), put the kids to bed, watch a movie, and then I will go to bed.

Re: Anyone else not stay up on NYE?

  • I probably won't, because I'd be staying up by myself.

DH has to get up for work at 2:45am.

I guess if I'm feeling awake enough, I might watch the ball drop.

It's kind of lame when you live in Central time zone, though. Even though they show us the NYC ball dropping at 12am,  we all know that it really happened an hour earlier.  Kind of ruins it for me.

  • I will be sound asleep around 10:00. We will be in a hotel with dd in the same room. Really no way to make a big thing if it.  We haven't stayed up for it for the past few years, either. We're lame.

  • DH and I have been together since 2008 and I don't think we have ever stayed up until midnight.  We have never gone out either.  We generally end up staying in or staying at the in laws.  They have a little get together in the cul de sac.  We actually live in the cul de sac now, so, we will definitely be participating this year.

  • Most likely not.  I bought some champagne, but I will probably drink that at 8 and be in bed by 10.  I am old and tired.

  • We're not. My kid gets up at 7 no matter how late he stays up. He'll be going to bed at 8 and we'll go to bed around 11, as per usual. We are attending a party but we'll leave early.

  • Sort of. With a 1 month old, we get our best sleep before midnight! So we will probably go to bed and maybe stay up after the first feeding. Unless Cole decides he wants to sleep right through which will be fine with me!

  • I probably would still be awake at that time anyway, but I really don't care about New Years that much.

  • We never stay up on NYE. We try to, but our attempts always fail.

  • It'll be a toss up for me.  We are going OOT tomorrow (the next day? MH hasn't decided) and I need to pack.

  • I'm gonna try!  I just feel like lame sauce if I don't, even though I only have to prove it to myself. :)

  • I very rarely stay up until midnight on NYE. DH works on NYE (restaurant business) so it's just me and the kids. DD stayed up until midnight last year (friends came in from out of town and were supposed to stay up with us but they were jet-lagged and crashed but she still wanted to stay up). I might keep her up until 12 this year again. Not sure.
