luteal phase spotting

I am new to this site, but wanted to join because I can't seem to find others that have as much of a spotting problem as I do! I spot everyday from 1 dpo till AF. I think it may be due to low progesterone. I'm frustrated with the healthcare system since it will still be several months for me to get the proper tests done. I've had general blood work done which shows my thyroid and overall health to be good and i have a general u/s scheduled in about 1.5 weeks. I've been referred to a fertility specialist, but haven't recieved a call or appointment yet. Has anyone had spotting throughout their luteal phase and been able to get a BFP?? We have been TTC for 13 months without a single BFP. Normally my spotting is light brown until a couple of days before AF when it becomes darker. I have about a 15 day luteal phase. This cycle I had bright red spotting once at 9 dpo. I'm just looking for support and connection, thanks :)

I have a luteal phase defect and spot a good bit from ovulation on.  I started taking extra vitamin d and doing acupuncture, both which helped a ton.  During my last two non-medicated cycles, I did not have any spotting. I'd recommend calling for an appointment and get all the testing done (HSG, semen analysis, etc). Most of the ladies on this board have a specific dx and have moved on to IVF. The TTTC board has a lot of people who haven't made it that far. You may be able to relate a little better to that board. Wither way, both a great boards. Good luck!

    ***Previous pregnancy mentioned***

I suffered from a pretty severe LPD, but was able to get pregnant by taking progesterone supplements to lengthen my LP. It's a very simple blood test at 7DPO, so you can ask your GP for it even. It's important for both of you to have a complete fertility workup though, as we originally only had ovulation and LPD issues, but then discovered that we were dealing with severe MFI as well. TCM and acupuncture helped us quite a bit for the LPD and ovulation issues, but progesterone will always be an problem for us.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to re-post in TTTC. I will try to see a different GP and hopefully get b/w to check my hormones (my current GP is not at all interested). Also I'll make an appointment for accupunture... I wish this was easier. Thanks again!

My GP wasn't very helpful either, so I went to an OB who got me started down the right path on my first visit to her. I would recommend finding an OB clinic in your area.
