Intro and question

Hi my name is Lauren...I don't think I've posted yet on this board so I thought I'd introduce myself first. My first baby, a girl, is due feb. 20 and I'm planning on exclusively cloth diapering. I'm starting out with the gdiapers starter set with cloth liners, but I've heard some people love them and some hate them so I'll add to my stash depending on how things are working out. My question is should I be using baby powder when cloth diapering? I read that creams are bad for it but I haven't seen anything about powder. Probably a stupid question but TIA.

I don't use powder, but I didn't with sposies either when she was too little for our CDs.

I also don' t use powder but have read that you can use cornstarch with CDs. There are several creams that are CD safe. I like Earth Man Angel Baby. A lot of people on here use Grandma Ls or CA Baby.  But honestly you may find you don't need anything at all with cloth. I've only needed cream once and that was for a reaction to detergent. WWelcome by the way! Congrats on the baby!

I wouldn't use powder. We use the Grovia magic stick with most changes just as a preventative. With a bad rash, we use desitin with a fleece liner, so that it doesn't get on the actual diaper.

I've never used baby powder. It won't hurt the diapers, but I've never had a need for it.

As far as diaper cream, I've used coconut oil, CJs, Earth Mama Angel Baby and Grandma El's. My favorites are the coconut oil and EMAB though I'm wanting to try the Grovia Magic Stick.
