I haven't heard that but its never a bad idea to go ahead and start brushing and getting them use to it. I wouldn't do it hard enough to damage or weaken her gums though.

I'm not a stm but I've never heard of this...but I do use a gum brush already to get her used to having her "teeth" brushed. It's part of her bedtime routine and she gums it every night after her bath. My friend is a dentist and she bought Avery the Gerber Infant Tooth and Gum cleanser (soft finger brush) so I figure that must be a good one.
