Why dont people get it.

Traveling with children, especially with babies is not easy. You have to stop every 3 or so hours for potty breaks. Hopefully you can time that with a feeding, which has you off if the road for at least a half hour, usually 45 minutes, when diaper changes are said and done. After the ride from hell, where DD1 was tired and cranky but refused to nap, DD2 had gas and cried on and off for 2 hours, MIL who constantly complains we don't visit enough calls and says, well just relax. Well guess what, we can't. Unlike you who can do the trip straight, we have to regularly stop, DD1 is still fighting her nap, and now that DD2 is out of her carseat, she wants to be entertained. Why don't people get how complicated travel can be with young kids!!!!!!

Ugh. So sorry you are having a rough time of it. 

You make me glad we asked everyone to come to us this year if they wanted to see us.

I hear you! DH's family is an hour away and they're constantly bugging us to go there and visit them. It's not that easy with 2 kids and breastfeeding. Plus DS1 doesn't nap in the car anymore and ds2 refuses to take a bottle. So that means we're there for like an hour and spend 2 hours driving. Not something I'm willing to do very often. Especially, when they're capable of coming here with much less hassle.
